The UK and the Antarctic Environment

Inquiry

The Environmental Audit Sub-Committee on Polar Research is launching a new inquiry into The UK and the Antarctic Environment. In this inquiry the Sub-Committee will explore the effects of climate change in Antarctica, and the role that UK science can play in understanding and protecting the region. It will also review how well the UK Government is meeting its obligations under the Antarctic Treaty, and consider the roles of the British Antarctic Survey (including RSS Sir David Attenborough), the Royal Navy (through its use of HMS Protector), and the Antarctic Heritage Trust.
