The Independent Commission for Aid Impact (ICAI) published a review, The UK aid response to Covid-19, last year. This review focused on the initial aid response to the pandemic, including how DFID and then FCDO reprioritised its resources in response, and how the UK has supported the vaccine rollout in developing countries. ICAI has also published an information note on UK aid spending during Covid-19: management of procurement.
The Sub-Committee questioned both ICAI and the Government on the review and information note, including on what more the UK can do to accelerate the supply of vaccines to developing countries, and how it intends to count donated vaccines as aid.
