The one-off evidence session will consider the status and future of the Iran nuclear deal (officially the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action). It will cover:
- The significance and implications of Iran’s threats to cease certain commitments under the JCPOA.
- The EU’s INSTEX special purpose vehicle and the extent to which it may help mitigate the effects of the US sanctions.
- The role China, Russia and other actors could play in safeguarding the JCPOA.
- The alternatives to the JCPOA, if any, that could keep Iran from furthering its nuclear programme.
- The impact the recent attacks on oil tankers may have on relations between Iran, the US and the E3.
