Committee begins annual scrutiny of Parliamentary and Health Services Ombudsman

On Tuesday 8 January, the Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee holds the first of two sessions in its annual scrutiny of the Parliamentary and Health Services Ombudsman (PHSO).

Purpose of the session
In this session, the Committee will hear from two members of an independent peer review panel, which produced the ‘value for money study' of the PHSO's work called for by the Committee last year.
The Committee is expected to explore and test the panel's findings and recommendations, consider the performance of the PHSO compared with similar organisations in other countries, and identify key issues to raise in its evidence session with the Ombudsman later in January.
