ICAI's review on UK aid's contribution to tackling tax avoidance and evasion

Inquiry

The Sub-Committee questioned the Independent Commission for Aid Impact, Department for International Development (DFID) and HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) on how UK aid has worked to tackle tax avoidance and evasion in the international sphere.

DFID has worked closely with the Treasury and HMRC to influence the setting of new tax standards at the G20, as well as to help build the capacity of developing countries to implement those tax standards and explored how effective this work has been, and how DFID and HMRC can improve in the future.
