The Scottish Affairs Committee examines the position of Scottish university research within the wider UK research landscape and how UK Government policy affects it.

The panel are likely to be asked to:
- detail specific challenges faced by researchers during the coronavirus crisis and the effect the longer-term financial impact could have on their work;
- comment on the sustainability of the research funding model in Scotland;
- assess the UK Government’s economic support for researchers and projects, and the potential impact that the introduction of fees for EU students on their work; and
- outline the importance of EU funding programmes such as Horizon and Structural Funding to Scottish university research.
