Purpose of the Session
The Committee will question a panel of expert witnesses on the serious issues of gender equality and how to combat sexual violence in DRC, once called the 'rape capital of the world'.
The Committee will then go on to look at private sector development in Congo, as well as the high levels of corruption there and how economic growth can be made inclusive to benefit the very poorest.
