Conditions for child refugees across Europe examined

International Development Committee hears from Lord Dubs on what his understanding was of Section 67 of the Immigration Act (also known as ‘the Dubs' amendment for unaccompanied child refugees) and whether this had been fulfilled following the Government's Immigration written statement of 8 February.

Purpose of the Session
The Committee also want to find out more about the conditions for child refugees across Europe and whether the:
- UK's Refugee Children Fund for Europe of up to £10 million,
- £30 million aid to refugees and migrants announced by the Prime Minister at the Valletta Summit in February UK, and the
- £8 million special protection fund providing care and support to women and girl refugees
are having an impact. The Committee will be questioning representatives of organisations working with and representing the unaccompanied children across Europe on what the realities of life for them are and if conditions are improving.
