The European Scrutiny Committee held a one-off evidence session with the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs to question him about the Government's failure to provide the Committee with a detailed legal analysis of the use of Article 352 in relation to a proposal on the placing on the market of meat from animal clones and to explain the Government's reluctance to police its inappropriate use by the European Commission in relation to this proposal.
