House of Commons Library briefing note on key planning reform 24 June 2013

The Committee has exchanged correspondence with the Department for Communities and Local Government and held an oral evidence session with the Planning Minister Nick Boles MP. Members decided to ask the general public for suggested questions for the Minister on planning practice guidance.

The session focused on the economic benefits of, and how local authorities will cope administratively and financially with, the new measures; and planning issues regarding free schools, the review of planning practice guidance and what will happen when the new rules expire in 2016.
