Committee to hear from academics on the impact of covid-19 on the benefits system in Wales

Marking its first evidence session as part of the inquiry, the Benefits System in Wales, the Welsh Affairs Committee will explore key issues within the benefits system with a panel of academics.
Purpose of the session
Hearing from experts from the University of Salford, Sheffield Hallam University and University of Strathclyde, MPs will examine the benefits system before and during the covid-19 pandemic, as well as potential reforms to the system. The session will also look at the practical implications of the devolution of some benefit powers to Scotland, and the potential lessons for Wales.
