Former Love Island contestant and influencer Amy Hart to give evidence to MPs

10 September 2021

The Committee will hear from content creators in its inquiry into Influencer Culture to explore the work of influencers, consider remuneration by third parties, and the role of media platforms in promoting content. Alongside former Love Island contestant Amy Hart will be Anna Whitehouse, author and founder of Mother Pukka, a portal providing parental advice, news and events.

Purpose of the session

The first session of the inquiry heard evidence from influencer Em Sheldon on being the target of internet abuse. This session will examine what drives such harassment, how much support influencers would like, and what support is offered by organisations they work with.

How well regulations are working around influencer marketing, such as ‘advertorial’ content, are also likely to be considered.
