Minister for Health questioned on healthcare implications of EU agreement

The EU Environment Sub-Committee will be hearing evidence on the implications of the UK-EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement for the healthcare sector.

A first panel involves representatives from the NHS Confederation, the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry, Kidney Care UK, and Cancer Research UK. A second panel involves Minister for Health, Edward Argar MP.

Areas of discussion:

The Committee will ask a first panel about:

  • The patient perspective
  • Research implications of the Agreement
  • Reciprocal healthcare
  • Access to medicines

The Committee will then seek the Minister’s response to the concerns raised by witnesses in the previous panel.

These sessions will inform the Committee’s summative report on the energy, environment and health implications of the UK-EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement.
