Access to UK fisheries post-Brexit Evidence Session

The EU Environment Sub-Committee will be discussing the fishing aspects of the UK-EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement with  fishing Minister Victoria Prentis and other Government officials.

The first panel involves representatives from the fishing regulators for Scotland and England: Marine Scotland, and the Marine Management Organisation. The second panel involves fishing Minister Victoria Prentis MP and supporting officials.

The Committee will ask the first panel about:

  • The preparedness of the marine regulators to monitor fishing activity and enforce the new rules in UK waters now that the UK is an independent coastal state

  • The outcome of the recent negotiations with the EU
  • What the outcome means for the fishing industry
