MPs are also likely to ask witnesses about:
- the impact of trade deals covering these regions and key asks for upgrading the existing deal with South Korea.
- the effect the European Union’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism that aims to add fees on to carbon-intensive products imported to the bloc, potentially hitting £7bn worth of UK goods heading to the EU.
- whether it’s worth pursuing a US free trade deal considering the US’s likely demands.
This will be the second session of the Committee’s inquiry on export-led growth.
