MPs will scrutinise Ofsted’s Chief Inspector, Amanda Spielman and the National Director for Regulation and Social Care, Yvette Stanley on the work of Ofsted—the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills. The wide-ranging session will cover the work of the regulator since its last accountability session with the Committee in June 2021.

Questions may cover the organisation’s key priorities and achievements. The Committee may also ask about the impact of the pandemic on Ofsted’s progress, as well as the effectiveness of the Covid catch-up programme in schools.
The session may examine Ofsted’s key target of increasing the inspection cycle so that all schools are inspected by 2025. The Chief Inspector may also be asked about Ofsted’s 2022-2027 strategy, including the progress of the organisation’s push to improve workforce diversity and training. It could also ask questions regarding Ofsted’s new inspection framework and its impact on school inspections.
