What is the finance sector doing to support disordered gamblers?

In the first session this week the Select Committee on the Social and Economic Impact of the Gambling Industry takes evidence from treatment providers, looking at the accessibility and effectiveness of the treatments available. In the second session, the Committee hears from financial service providers, and asks what steps are being taken by banks to tackle gambling-related harms.

- The co-operation between banks and gambling operators in undertaking affordability checks;
- Banks' ability to block gambling transactions; and
- The potential impact of the forthcoming ban on gambling using a credit card.
