Consultation on parliamentary advice and services - Members' views sought

18 April 2023

The Conduct Committee is reviewing the House’s rules on paid parliamentary advice and services, including lobbying, for the first time since they were agreed in 2009-10. The Committee’s intention is not to tighten the rules, but rather to ensure in the light of experience that they are worded as clearly and helpfully as possible for members and others.

The Committee has put together some draft suggestions on which it would welcome members’ views. Members should read the consultation document and send any response to lordsconduct@parliament.uk by Wednesday 17 May. The Committee does not propose to publish the responses, but it will review them all carefully and reflect them in its subsequent report to the House.
