The conduct of Lord Pendry

7 April 2022

The House of Lords Conduct Committee has today published a report on the conduct of Lord Pendry.

The Commissioner for Standards found that Lord Pendry breached the Code of Conduct by bullying an employee in the Parliamentary Security Department. The Conduct Committee has dismissed Lord Pendry’s appeal against the findings and agrees with the Commissioner’s recommendation that he be suspended from the House for one week.

The House will be asked to agree the report and sanction early in the new session. Under Standing Order 68, members cannot debate the report or sanction, but can vote on whether or not to approve them.
