Conduct Committee publish exchange of correspondence concerning extending the scope of the Code

The Conduct Committee has responded to the letter from the Lord Speaker on behalf of the Commission which asked them to consider extending the scope of the Code to cover members' conduct in the public realm outside parliamentary duties and activities. The Committee is not currently recommending extending the scope in this way, but it has invited the Steering Group for Change (made up of members and staff) to consider producing non-binding guidance for members on the use of social media.
