The Chair of the Sub-Committee on the work of ICAI, Theo Clarke MP said:
“I welcome the fact that the government remains committed to reaching some of the most marginalised people – often women and children – through nutrition support. It is encouraging to hear that the government is working with the UN children’s agency, UNICEF, to drive action against acute child malnutrition. I look forward to seeing how this work progresses.
The UK’s nutrition work has saved millions of lives, but malnutrition is still a major cause of preventable death. With the Nutrition for Growth Summit fast approaching, the government must use this opportunity to renew its commitment to helping the world’s poorest.”
